Our History

PGL gets its name from the initials of the man who started it all in the 1950s – Peter Gordon Lawrence.

In 1955, Peter embarked on his first canoeing holiday down the River Danube. Inspired by the experience, back home in England he began leading canoe trips for young adults along the River Wye.

Since 1957, we’ve grown enormously because we’re passionate about what we do. We listen to our customers and continually invest and innovate to provide the very best combination of adventure activities, equipment, accommodation, food and service.

We are delighted to be able to offer the PGL residential camp experience to schools and youth groups in Victoria and Queensland.
